Too stupid to *breathe* without help, these humans, I tell ya.

:sigh:

This is the classic argument against most new technologies. "Oh, it takes so much more to bring them to the consumer than traditional methods..."

But look how long it took to get standard gasoline to everyone in North America. Can you really compare bio-fuel and gasoline fairly until it's running on it's own dedicated, or simillarly efficient delivery system?

As for refining, that's always been a huge hurdle for green energy...but just like transportation, it's always getting better. Why do you think they're still trying to create fusion reactors when they're currently sucking in more power than they produce?

Easy answer...make all the cars electric.

Still leaves the powerplants, doesn't it?

Look at Hydrogen cars: Hydrogen is smooth, powerful, efficient, and poops water vapour into the air. The problem is that it generally takes a little more energy to create than it will ever give out. At least using current methods.

But now, they're realizing that bacteria can start doing the job fast, and save a shitload of energy. First generation bio-catalyst hydrogen production is already better than the electrical method we've used for decades.

People just need to think progressively, instead of thinking with 1950's tech to solve every industrial or commercial problem.
