So. Since all my swordfag friends made me feel left out, and since I really DID need something more substantial than a pocketknife (Knives. Big, shiny, fuck-off ones.), I finally went and bought myself a nice effective blade.

Holy Fuck! This is going to sound weird, but I've been having dreams about this knife. Though it didn't have that hole in the blade, it looked almost identical to this.

On a side note, you look disturbingly like Will Sasso in that pic.

Aw, thanks for the admiration! They're not super-expensive works of art like Fiss has, though. Mine are worth $40 and $50, and they're glorified cleavers. (But oh, what cleavers!) They're suited to my "just fuck it up" style, and they can render other weapons worthless pretty fast, since "light and well-edged" fails against "edged metal club," but they're heavy and clumsy. A skilled user can dance around 'em with relative ease. Of course, I'd only have to hit the dancing skilled user once...

Anyway, my point is, I love 'em because they're basically axes in sword form. They're what I've been looking for. You need to find some good (ie practical, not "lookit my penis is big because my sword has jaggies on it") weapons that fit with your style. Fiss has a katana. Spike has... well, a spike. Pod has a staff. Amon has a double-blade cane sword. I have cleavers. Some people like knives, some like European longswords, some like butterfly knives, or scimitars, or clubs, or whatever. The important thing is that they work, they work for YOU, and they make you happy. No weapon is better than another because of its form. It's the user, yaknow?

Good points (pun intended) Toze. ^_^ Besides, some of the best armour breakers look like a sword and an axe had a horrible disturbingly awesome love-child. Good stuff man. Despite possible penis-jokes, they ARE useful and DO have a use...most notibily with cavalry and armour.

And knuckle-scissors > Barehanded. ^_^ Amazing what kind of kick ass shit you can find at the local hardware store that can be easily used in a 17th century battlefield....

i've got a new sword coming in the mail soon.

when i get home, i'll take pics of the 6 i currently have (yeah..6...bad eBay, BAD) and put em up - got a Celtic Longsword, Crusader Longsword and Isis Longsword (two hand, hand and a half and single hand, in that order), plus everyones favourite, Katana/wakizashi/tanto set ^^

What can I say...don't have a digital camera. It's just a standard Paul Chen Practical plus, nothing too fancy, so pics can be found online easily. ^_^

I'm getting a Wally Hayes katana made for next x-mas.. i'll get pics made while its being forged
