IN B4 "DINE IN HELL"

Frank Miller + Sparta + NIN Trailer Music = Serious Manly Win.

I've long been a fan of Greek history and mythology. The Battle of Thermopylae almost blurs the line between the two.

I love the surreal visual style. And the choice of music for the trailer is truly excellent. Just like with Sin City, it's a theme that sticks in your mind (in a good way).

I also like how Frank is taking control of his properties when it comes to transferring them to a new medium. Sin City was THE best comic book movie because Frank said "Okay, you want to do a movie based on my comic, Fine. But I am co-directing or else it doesn't get made."

I am looking forward to 300, and Sin City 2 as well.

Found a site with some neat comic-to-screen comparisons: link.

I've been watching the "featurettes" on the website. Major win for the Martial Arts director and the Film Director being peeps and training in real life. Also, there isn't an interview that doesn't have mention of "Frank's" in it...a damn good sign.

For obvious reasons, I keep thinking this is the lovechild between Sin City, Return of the King and Gladiator.

Despite the fact that the movie bore little resemblance to what actually went down at Thermopolye(sp), it was a great movie. Very visually compelling.

Here is a copy of the 300 graphic novel. Compare and contrast the two.
