Children of an Elder God
On this the 20th month since the last update of it page (1-15-2003, 9-15-2004) I'd like to inquire as to what are people's feeling on this tale, and what, if any, impact it has had on you.
I myself love it, for all the interesting monsters, weirded out pilots and the total destruction of Tokyo-3 without killing everyone.
I'm still searching for HP Lovecraft, but it is difficult as the library doesn?t carry it and I don?t have a credit card. Sigh.

Oh hell yeah. If you can get past the plodding dream chapters, it really is one of the best Eva fics that exist.
Very highly recommended.
A beta of Chapter 22, not up on the official website, can be found here.

Heh, that'd be the Lovecraftian influence there.

Yep. Just the fact that they called it a crossover with Lovecraft told me the second that Anna showed up that she was going to die a slow painful death. I really wish they'd finished this fic.

A file that big?
It might be very useful.
But now it is gone.

At least there getting close. There've gone though what 12 'angels' now? Only a handful left.
I like the dream world. I'm going to go read it again. Maybe something will come out when I finish, it's happened on quite a regular bases.

I just hope that they finish it; this is, apart from Higher Learning, one of the few long serials that is consistent in its quality. It'd be a damn shame if it was never finished.

Awe.
Y'know, I'd been 1000% certain they'd given it up for dead, abandoned, kaput.

I would much, much rather read Children of an Elder God again than watch Evangelion again. And I say this as someone who isn't full of the Evangelion-hate.
It updated? Glee!

I love this one--actually one of the major inspirations for my novel, after its inspirations, Nietszche (I know I spelled that wrong) and Hinduism. Though it's much easier to read than Lovecraft, and much less dark.
As for where to find Lovecraft, here's a site with most of his writing:
The HP Lovecraft Library
The most important stories, as far as I can tell (as I haven't read the two new chapters) are "The Call of Cthulhu", "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward", "At the Mountains of Madness" and "The Dreams of Witch House"
I must warn you, though, Lovecraft's style is very narrative-heavy, with almost no dialogue, and it is almost always first person. This always gives it an intense after-the-fact feeling that makes it a little slow at times.
Edit: Oh, I forgot. Because of the time that's elapsed since Lovecraft's demise, this is all public domain. enjoy with no fear of legal repurcussions.
