Just Married!
For those unable to make it to Senie and I's wedding, by the time you read this, we'll probably already be into the ceremony. Or, if you're lazy, we might be already away for the honeymoon. Regardless, thanks for all the support and wonderful well-wishing!
Now, if you'll excuse me...I have some swords to peace-bond. ^_^

As one of the ushers (although we thought of ourselves more as guards), I am pleased to report that the ceremony went swimmingly. Prior to the scheduled time, we had more than our share of challenges, but the Gods themselves could not stand before our combined strength and the love of family and friends.
The ceremony itself was held at the Devonian Gardens; the sunshine came through, and there were sparrows and koi in attendance. As I led Mrs. Brummet (mother of the groom) to the altar to light her candle, I felt the amazing warmth of joy of all present and could not help but be moved. The pastor made a lovely (and in places rhyming cleverly) sermon, followed by the vows. Fiss' vows were beautiful, respectful and meaningful. I'm sure he can be persuaded to type them out for us at some point. As for Asenia... she took the microphone, giggled sweetly in her excitement, took a deep breath... and let her Siren's voice fly. Her vows, delivered in the form of song, were breath-taking. I have no doubt in my mind that the happy couple will share many long years together. It is said that humans are one-winged angels. Alone, we are beautiful. But together, we fly. My dear friends, as I watched you at that altar, I saw your wings. They were tall and glorious and charged by the pure energy of all the well-wishers present.
Since I had to leave the reception before microphones were opened (if they were) I will say now what ran through my mind last night. Christopher, along with Richard and Tyler, you formed a triumvirate which saved my life once. Maybe not saved me from physical death, but you opened your home and your life to me in my hour of need, and in so doing preserved my way of life and my dreams. Therefore, it was with great honor and pleasure that I took part in the union of what my Phaedre would call "the Seniefiss." I could not be happier to see you made whole, my friend. May your skies forever be clear and warm. When you feel the need to perch, my doors will evermore me open to you.

While I was around, I didn't actually come in and say "hi". I wish for you many years of happiness and peace. I was looking forward to saying "hi" to Senie and Draxel, but alas, I am a loser. ^_^

i agree with spike, and reinstate what i have said before.
"this is your time SenieFiss, the world can wait for you." and it will. this is a happy time, when worldly values are trancended by love. M3, though we love it dearly has little significance compared to the power of SenieFiss' union.

Actually, from a theological standpoint, the pastor's message was (while artistically nice) utter tripe. Fiss had much better theology evident in his vows, and Senie was a shining star of correct attitudes and assertions about God and marriage. They both had a really good grasp on what their responsibilities were and how God was going to be fitting in. The pastor went on about "perfecting onesself in god-awareness" and then recited pagan marriage ceremonies, which impressed me not at all.
So, basically, I think their marriage is going to go pretty dang well, considering that they seem to know the essential things, and plenty of non-essentials. Huzzah for them!

Glad you enjoyed the service, Toxetre. (j/k)
But I agree with Spike and NK; as for Missionaries, we can wait.

well when presiding over a marriage of mixed faith (since we're technically talking about a catholic and a protestant, i believe) it must be difficult to choose appropriate words. personally, i was listening more to the tone and intent than the theology. i was just happy that it wasn't like another wedding i went to recently where the pastor decided to use the ceremony as a soapbox to preach that no other weddings were valid. i'm pretty sure he was implying that gay marriage pissed him off a lot.

I regret not being there!
Of course, I'm pretty much a perfect stranger, but... still!
Wish I could have seen/heard it all. Sounds like it was damn near perfect, and that's tough enough to pull on regular days, let alone something of such... well, momentous occasion.
