It's been, what, two weeks since Martin announced his handgun ban plan?
Alberta retailers and wholesalers RUN OUT of guns due to a 600% increase in sales. The 600% figure is from MY local gun shop, who only has some single-action revolvers and a .45 semiauto left. Or they did, last week. Since buying a handgun in Canada requires some fairly impressive hoops, you can bet it's not criminals buying these guns.

Ya think maybe Albertans disagree with what Martin says will make communities safer?

It's a law of macro-economics that making something illegal is the quickest way to drive up both demand and cost of any product.

You'd think these boys, whatever their other failings, would remember the prohibition...

Also, we may see guns retrieve some of their romance and excitement. Could turn into the next 'zorro sword' theme in Canadian (likely Western) Literature. I sense a return to good cowboy and spaghetti westerns.

$xBillion for gun registration? WTF? Did it do *anything* to reduce crime? I'd really honestly like to know. Did it prevent a single crime? At all? Ever?

Jail time for criminals and more cops? See, now, *this* is (one of the many reasons) why I ain't voting Liberal.
