I'll grant that old people are still subject to normal distribution of intelligence and education - but they've got experience, and that can make up for a lot. (Besides, Clara's a sweetheart - she kind of reminds me of my own grandmother).

Best of all, they have the experience to maintain a budget and a diet that won't leave you homeless or with scurvy. Anyone can look up "cheap food recipes" online...but knowing how to cook like that for a year? Most of us can't fathom it.
