Okay maybe this might be better elsewhere but I can't think of anywhere since avatars are sorta creative but Where did people get their avatars?
I'm asking this because I'm genuinely interested and Mista_B's has got me going is that wasp?
I got mine by messing around with artwork from the lovely Myssa Rei's site.

Heh, yup, that's a wasp. :P I think wasps are fun and cute, hehe. It was actually a custom pic done by a friend of mine, she's a pretty good artist. I gotta get her stuff up to deviantart one of these days.

Ooo, and some very nice stuff at that link there, good find.

I found mine on the internets, like I find most things. I sorta float like a leaf on the wind of data, and pick up interesting things as they pass by.

Bookmark 4chan and you'll probably get all you need.

I made mine in paint. If you make a pic at about 1000x1000 it looks pretty decent when you shrink it to 50x50. If I were to show you a full size of my avatar, you'd be shocked at how crappy it really is.

Resizing and Smoothing covers a multitude of artistic sins. ^_^

I generally find mine via anime art sites and 4chan. 4chan is a strangely awesome resource for graphics....even the horrible doom of /b/ can sometimes hold hidden treasures between the racist propaganda and gay dick-girl porn. No, seriously. 8)

Geez, I don't even remember what site mine came from.

Is that a sign that it's time for a new one?

Mista_B I found Myssa's site after reading Alain Gravel's The One I Love Is... I think it's just as good as Fiss's works... then again... I'm a sucker for a good romance.

Mine is a screenshot from the original opening to the original Wild ARMs game. I think the screencap came from RPGamer.com, but I'm not entirely sure. I cropped and resized it down to 100x100.

I have a whole folder on my HD that's nothing but screencaps that I've gathered over time to make into avatars if I ever get bored enough. I've also been playing with the idea of using one of my original drawings as an avatar, but I don't have anything really suitable yet.

You know, I heard that Japanese has closer linguistic relations to Finnish than any othe language, including Chinese and Korean. Does Finnish use honnorative suffixes like Japanese?

I didn't know that. :o And no, we don't use those.

I understood that it was Turkish...though there's some sort of weird Turkish-Finnish connection, too...hmm...there's a vast conspiracy of Linguists...what're they planning...?
