Post subject:  Question about fanfic sites.

I'm looking to post some stories (all Eva, at the moment), and FF.net is, well...let's just say that if I can avoid them, that'd be great. (I seem to run into formatting problems with them.) What would be a few good places to have stuff hosted? I tried Alain Gravel, but he doesn't seem to be answering his emails at the moment. Any help here would be gratefully appreciated. :)

Fanfiction.net is actually quite popular, so it gets your work out there.

Formatting is the trick. I've just started doing this recently, BTW. What you do is:

Format your story with the most basic text and test it on ff.net. If it's readable, then submit it EVERYWHERE, but right at the top of THIS draft, have a link to your personal website where you host the story. This way, you have a format that's readable on all the popular sites, and at the same time, you have your format with you're personal touch on your website.

Of late, Gravel's too busy to get in touch with. :(

Alternateively, if you need space, I got plenty, and you can format any way you wish.

Thanks, but I've tried FF.net before; with TXT files, DOC files, and HTML files - and there were serious deficiencies in all of them. (For instance, double punctuation goes bye-bye - not that I use it constantly, but it sucks the drama out of a statement when it gets removed.) And when I tried to edit out the changes, nothing happened. I agree that FF.net gets the work out there, no question, but it didn't used to dick around with the format so much. And sadly, I don't have my own site - at least, I don't right now. That's something to consider, actually. Thanks.

And thank you for the offer, Fiss. I'll PM you, and see what we can work out. ^_^
