Post Massive 3 Party Campaign planned - Want in?
I'm currently planning a massive real-life D20 Modern-esque campaign that will basically split my current gaming groups into three parties of 4 or 5 people. The idea is to have each party stationed at a different point in the area to deal with different challenges, but working together for the same goal. Would anyone like to participate in a side-party? You'd be mostly working on your own, but would be able to react with the other 3 parties, and influence what they have to deal with due to your actions or your ideas.

The big problem I saw with the old D20 campaigns we were running was that if one person couldn't post for a while, everything was grinding to a halt. Most of the role playing in this campaign will be text based, with actual game rolls happening only for combat, or to do things that would be insanely hard to role-play, like "tricking a guard into thinking you're on the replacement shift" where bluff and other social skills will be key.

There is also potential for epic fights/encounters when the 3 parties can join together. When that happens, I'll be setting anyone on the WAR who wants to join up for the battle. We may even be able to run with an online map-program to assist with including everyone at the same time...or we can plan out side actions that will occur as the real-life parties do their things.

If interested, I can promise you a few things:

-I will check the WAR several times a day to provide feedback/updates.
-If you cannot check the WAR for your round, we will be running on a loose initiative system and we can try to run with "prep your next action and PM it to me" style of play. I would only require that during major encounters that you check 1 time every 2 days and provide me responses/reactions to give the rest of the party.
-Weekend based. "Active days" can be on weekends, or all throughout the week...I'll let the players decide.
-Because of the difficulty of a large party, everyone will be grouped in no more than 4 people to a "group". Any missing people will get NPC's that I run to help balance out your ability to survive.
-LOW POWER, NON TWEAKED OUT CHARACTERS- Everyone will be given a stat-array to work with, and we will try to run "realistic" characters. Yes...there will be special powers...but I'm not telling you what they are yet. :)

I'd like to have this starting by April, but the WAR portion can pretty much start anytime. Any takers?

THEME: Modern Day. Western Canada. Players are suddenly transported away...have to escape...and come back to find the entire world is in chaos. Technology is breaking down due to EM interference, and the only reliable tech is either super hardcore expensive, or downright basic. The Internet has been transfered to a different medium, and only works from certain locations in the world now. Three major factions exist: The Rulers: who are trying to save what society they can by joining with mysterious overlords who have appeared. The Rebels: Trying to hold together what they can without relying on the overlords. The Masses: Those who are still running from the chaos...or already consumed by it.

This might be interesting, but unfortunately I'm involved in more RPs then I should be so I don't expect to have the time.

Something I will suggest however, which seems to work well for my Alt community is setting up an IRC channel/meet date for the online groups, and then going through things in there. After the sim, they can translate the logs into proper story-esq text and post it.

Basically this would be a once a week thing, probably some time either friday or saturday night, which lets us account for the fact that most of us are all in different timezones.

But yeah, Sims. One of the things I've noticed is that active interaction or simming helps keep interest up. If we're just writing the story, with the occasional role, interest tends to wane as people run out of ideas, or other stuff gets in the way. Of course, then again, this all depends on the GM, while a decent writing writathon can go on for months after the GM has decided to go plow some other field.

In any case, this does look interesting, and if I can find the time I /would/ like to take part.

Sounds interesting. I'll have to see what I'm up too by April, but at the moment I'd like to be in. Of course, still need a few more people here.

PS, I like the new spell checker.

Definate interest from me right here, heh, but don't rely on my schedule - I don't quite have one at the moment.

Any recommendations as to source books for purposes of character creation? I don't exactly have any, but if I could mash together something functional (artist with a penchant for knives?) I'll definatly be in this.

Source Books will be kind of a hodge-podge of D20 Modern and Everything Else. Look at the way Star Wars: Saga Edition runs. That's going to be the closest. 3 "saves" will replace the AC bonus of standard D20. As for "talent paths" that will be up to me to decide. It will be enough for character ideas/creation, though.

Timeframe will be modern day. I HIGHLY recommend that you come up with an ideal "super power" you'd wish to have for your character. I can't guarantee it will occur, but certain things could happen to gift you certain...super human abilities. :P

As for how you'll fit in with the rest of the campaign, it depends partially on the other players and campaign timings. However, you will likely have the "first missions" that decide certain variables in the world, so don't feel like you're just taking the leftovers....very much the opposite.

If I can get 4 people by April 1st (fools!) I'll run the WAR-based segment. If not, I'll just devote more time to the player section and post the conicals if I can here.

Oh, what the hell. I'd be interested. My other RPs are winnowing down so I should have the time.

Plus it'll give me an excuse to run Kael Michenzo.

How does control over wind sound as a power?

Control over wind is always a good start. Of course, I've played Wind Priests before that were made of win and more win, so I'm biased. Heheh.

Everyone who would like to join, let me know the following:

- Brief Description
- 1 or 2 personal items that they would carry most of the time
- 1 or 2 personal items that they would pack with them going into a unknown city/dangerous situation (but LEGAL items that civilians would have access too...)
- Choose one mental stat, and one physical stat that you'd like to be the focus of any special powers you have. Try to make them fit the character you have in mind. For those not used to D20, they are Dexterity, Strength, Constitution for Physical, and Wisdom, Intellegence and Charisma for Mental.

Things to keep in mind: No dungeons and/or dragons. This is MODERN DAY, more or less 2008-2012-ish. If you can reasonably be packing a "uber palm-top" as part of your character, no problem, we can assume that technology advances a suitable amount in the next few years. Or even "new-version taser" or something similar. Also, you don't have spooky powers yet, so have an idea what you want and what will fit your character, but leave the rest up to the plot. I will give MAJOR bonuses if the character fits the power. Someone who listens to a lot of punk-metal music using the Power of Fluffly Kittens will have some severe negitives VS perhaps the ability to blast down foes with wicked licks. Etc.

Once we have the basics of the characters all figured out, I'll give you any additional specifics to use in the actual character creation and plot-specific bonuses/negitives.

Skills will be VERY important, and I will be giving major bonuses for any character-justifyable skills. Someone who likes the outdoors, for example, might have a nice high Con, and skills in survival, mountain-bikes, and knowledge of nature/tracking/trails. Have 2 or 3 major skills you want to excell at in mind. If you're not familiar with D20 systems, just think of what you want and we can translate it.

Post Re: Massive 3 Party Campaign planned - Want in?
Righto, then.

Name: Kael Michenzo
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Physical Focus Trait: Dexterity (Fingers of the Wind, M'boy, Fingers of the wind)
Mental Focus Trait: Wisdom (Ask not how the sun rises, but why)
Personal Items: MP3 Player, portable hard drive/laptop
Items to Pack: Walking Stick/staff, Bicycle.

A Brief History:

Kael Michenzo is twenty two years old. Born to a middle class family, he grew up knowing what it was like to have money, and to not have it. More recently, he has moved out to seek his own fortune, though stays in readied contact with his parents.

Kael has always felt that he was supposed to be part of something grand, a destiny that was snatched away from him. When and how, he does not know, yet the feeling remains. In any case, he occupies his time reading, reading, writing, and riding his bicycle. And ride it he does, up town, down town, all over the place. The feeling of the wind at his back, and the clear sky before him as he rockets down a hill is the closest to freedom he's ever come. The music in his ears no doubt helps this dream along.

Kael as a person is friendly, though quiet. Well, unless you get him speaking about a subject that he feels strongly for or knows a lot about, at which point he might talk your ears off. Still, he's a decent person, with a profound sense of what is and what needs to be. On occasion one can even find him talking in seemingly giberish, which he laughingly refers to as 'prophecy', though really is just a language he learned on the internet.

Occupation: Kael currently writes novels as a pastime, occasionally releasing one under a pen name. Though for more consistent work he serves in computer and networking support. Which usually means sitting around in a cubicle waiting for the bosses to drop something on him while he reads novels and the like, or riding around town waiting for a phone call to head to one place or another. Inspiration is everywhere, and Kael is going to need it if he's every going to finish that one book series he's got planned.

Well I'm glad. Kael was originally conceived as my title character for any fiction I did set on Omoi Earth. Not that I've written anything really, as I've mainly focused on other stuff. One of these days, you know?

But anyways, I'll be glad to keep him as true to his design as possible, wind powers and all. And maybe this RP will give me the inspiration to actually start belting out a chapter or two.

Post Re: Massive 3 Party Campaign planned - Want in?
Hmm, lemme think here...

Name: Lance Elliot
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Physical Focus Trait: Constitution (Used to walking long distances with heavy backpacks, standing hours on end with arm outstretched to an easel while painting, lots of improvised camping)
Mental Focus Trait: Wisdom? (Senses things others don't, though usually ignores it all as part of the background static of daily life, good at hiding what he knows.)
Personal Items: Pocket sketchbook, a half-dozen pens, pencils, etc. small 'tools of the trade' in pants/jacket pockets, small binoculars.
Items to Pack: Guy is a wandering artist, so... backpack has two sections, first the basic art supplies of small roll of canvas, a stretching board the canvas can be stretched over to paint, the painting later removed, rolled, and stored if not sold right away, misc assortment of paints, brushes, paper - basically, well-used misc assortment of portable art stuffs; second backpack section has basic hitch-hiker gear - small knife, blanket, rope, first-aid kit, basic rations, water bottle, matches, with a small but sturdy and warm waterproof sleeping back tightly rolled, wrapped in a tarp, and tied on top of the backpack - the backpack itself is one of those camping types, sturdy steel frame, but modified with three telescoping legs that can be pulled out, locked, and set up so that the frame of the backpack itself, once unloaded, becomes a painters easel - http://www.lawrence.co.uk/acatalog/750022.gif - I actually have one of these, it folds up to the size of a suitcase.

Heh, that may sound like a lot of stuff, but it's all basic - for a wandering artist guy, this is actually a realistic setup, basic camping gear + basic art supplies, but let me know if there's too much stuff there.

Summary: Wandering happy-go-lucky artist, with occasional artistic trances/seizures, and very rare artistic compulsions to create images of things beyond the capacity of the mortal mind. Financially well-off though he doesn't know it, he just puts the money in the bank. Wanders a comfortable loop through the big cities and small towns of Western Cananda, takes about a full year for a single loop, roughly Calgary -> Edmonton -> Northern BC -> Vancouver -> Calgary. A few spooky people look forward to buying his rare trance art. His much rarer, even spookier compulsion art he gets the vague irrational sense could get him in trouble.

More detailed history:

Lance Elliot, 27 years old. Born to a lower-middle class family, he grew up the youngest of three children, used to, though resenting, living a life of hand-me-downs. Parents always though he was a little soft in the head - when he was younger, he pointed out, laughed at, and spoke about things that nobody else saw, and frequently got in trouble for making up stories. The one time he was taken to a specialist, they found nothing wrong, and indeed his IQ tested a fair bit above average, though nobody believed it. Learned to keep his mouth shut at a young age, hide his intelligence, and 'blend-in' the best he could, by deliberatly repressing anything he could do or see that was out of the ordinary.

Lance has always felt that he was supposed to be part of something different thatn his peers, despite doing his best to blend-in. Always having a high skill in drawing, painting, sculpture and art, he's always wanted to be an artist - his mother, working two minimum wage jobs, and father, working a variety of low-level construction trades jobes because he always got fired for drinking, were dead set against their boy becoming a 'fancy pants prissy art snob'. Despite his skill, they'd destroy any drawings or paintings he made, take away his pencils, keep him busy with sports - doing their best to force him to be the jock they'd always wanted.

Needless to say, Lance ran away from home at a young age. Had some adventures, always managed to steer clear of drugs, though has seen far more of the ugly side of life than most, though always managed to pull himself back from falling intio it at the last moment. Gradually developed his art in secret, his parents repression of it making it difficult for him to go 'mainstream' with it. Never once thought he was 'worthy' enough to do something so grand as go to a Fine Arts school, entirely self-taught or learned from books.

Right now, at 27 years of age, has established a comfortable pattern of wandering from town to town, selling enough of his art at farmers markets, indie galleries, street markets, various specific private individuals to lead a comfortable, though item-poor life. Life consists of walking, hitch-hiking, surviving, drawing, painting, marvelling, and selling his art. In other words, he's good at what he does, but doesn't have much in the way of an education, understanding of technology is near zero, as is his understanding of money. All he knows about money is that he hasn't had to worry about it for awhile - when he's paid for his art, he sticks it in the bank, keeping a couple hundred in small bills distributed throughout his pockets. He's in a comfortable goove in life, and see's no reason to change things.

Can fake a friendly charisma when he needs to sell a painting or interact with the public, but is keenly aware that the quieter he keeps himself, the more he keeps to the background shadows, the more the world will let itself be seen by him. Has a network regular 'accquintances' in different towns and cities, but no actual friends that he could name. A rather naieve, charmed life, if that makes sense, though he's certainly earned it.

Is aware that he has three types of paintings/drawings, three types of art. First, the regular, most common art he sells, of the traditional type of abstracts, landscapes, people, cities - what you would see in any gallery.

Now, take this next part how you will - trying to come up with a sort of 'innocent seer' type character, using art as an unconcious divining tool. As in, the character would probably rather not have to deal with it, but it happens, and he deals with it.

So, his second type of art - made from a trance where he loses all awareness of himself, his surroundings, eyes unfocused, twitching as though in REM-sleep or a seizure from the canvas or paper into the middle-distance and back again. This trance he can sometimes call upon deliberatly, but usually comes upon in the middle of a normal painting. These paintings, distorted images of the things that only he seems to be able to see he usually keeps private, hidden, personal. To most, they are strange to look at, incomprehensible alien geometries of painful color combinations, or grotesque, too-imaginative people, landscapes, plants and animals. Only a few recognize them for what they are, and they pay him well for them - Lance is just happy to get rid of them, since they don't sell well, and waste a lot of paint. Without really knowing why, he keeps canvases of this sort in a secret compartment in his backpack, or a secret pocked sewn into the back of his jacket - he tells himself he just doesn't want to get them mixed in with his usual paintings. Puts them on display occasionally, when he doesn't want to deal with people buying anything from him for awhile, though a rare few seem attracted to them.

And there is a third type of art he makes. If the trance paintings only occur once or twice a month, unless he goes into trance deliberatly, this final sort of art occurs less than once a year. It is a *compulsion* that can come upon him, as if possessed, at any time, without reason or control. Deeper than a trance, in this state of mind, or lack of mind, he once without knowing it cut his hand for blood to paint when it happened that there was none around that he could use. For this reason he now carries plenty of pencils and minor art supplies in his pants pocket and jacket pockets at all times. Some of *these* paintings, however, he has sweated at and paled to see, and has himself destroyed, in utmost secret. Think Lovecraftian type compulsion, images of things that can not be named by mortal minds. Though they fetch the highest price from those willing to buy them, Lance for some reason unknown to him would rather they never leave his person - he has sold a few of them, when he needed the money, but regrets doing so. He feels fortunate that this sort of painting compulsion has come upon him only a dozen times he can remember. He's destroyed four, sold four, and keeps the final four sewn into the lining of his jacket, paint-side hidden from the world and from himself.

Heh, so how about that for spooky-type potential? Tweak that how you will, he's a pretty basic 'innocent wanderer' setup. That trance and compulsion stuff would be GM controlled, and as for any sort of talent-path, hmm... could be that this trance and compulsion painting stuff are his brain interfering with or catching high-technology broadcasts or communications - this spooky stuff he's seeing isn't spirits, but weird EM or 'sci-fi' type radiation, emmissions, broadcasts, that sort of thing. Distorted, but recognizable by those who know what they're looking for. Without knowing more about the world, I'd say that whatever power he may have would involve him being, by freak genetic accident, a highly sensitive organic transmitter/receiver of... stuff. Does that make sense? Getting self-control of something like that could be very interesting.

Hmmm, methinks I want in too.

Name: Meier Link
Age: 28
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 280lbs
Looks: Long Brown Hair (generally pulled back into a ponytail) Blue Eyes White Skin
Heroic Type: Strong Hero (from d20 Modern)
Physical Focus: Strength
Mental Focus: Charisma
Physical Skill focus: Jump, Climb, Swim
Mental Skill Focus: Intimidate, Diplomacy, Bluff, Knowledge (Occult)

Personal Items: (OOC)I know that it is legal to carry a sword in public, I will leave that for you to determine Fiss, if it's allowed he will be carrying a katana. Black trenchcoat, MP3 Player

Meier was born the middle child in a family of five. Being the middle child meant that Meier had to learn to fight for attention, whether good or bad. While his sisters focussed on music and other artistic pursuits, Meier focussed on defending his sisters from bullies. Not always the biggest dog i the fight, Meier always seemed to be the one to walk/limp away. Over the years Meier has chosen to cover the scars and bruises on his body with a series of intricate tattoos, all with a serpent motif.

Looking REALLY good so far guys.

-Kael Michenzo, Dreamer, Writer and Traveler
(Everything looks good.)
-Lance Elliot, Free-spirt, Altered-mental-state Artist.
(We'll decide on the powers of the seizures as we go)
-Meier Link, Dedicated Strong-arm who's hard to put down.
(No Katana yet, but the situation may allow for a fake one initially)

I can work wonders with the three of you. Anyone want to fill a 4th seat?

Meier can just as easily start with a bokken. :) Also, where will we be pulling feats from (if possible I would wish to take Improved Unarmed Strike for Meier, that way he still has a fighting chance)

Hmm.... You know, I think my Modern is in the basement somewhere. Might have to dig it up and trawl for feats.

You can also look at the D20 Modern SRD's for the basics.

I'll be doing a little writeup sometimes this week on the system changes we'll be using in this game, but basically, for now, run with D20 Modern and you'll get where you need to go. Plan for Character Level 5.

Ah, thanks for that link, i think I should be able to build a character out of that, not having any d20 books of my own. Hopefully my dude's seizures won't break him too badly. :P

I suppose the "Fast Hero" archetype would be a good build for Lance? Seems to fit with the innate DEX an artist, especially a wandering one, would have developed.

Name: Izzy (Isabella Mafeo)
Gender: Female
Age: 23
Height: 5'03"
Weight: 125lbs
Looks: long blond curls generally in a braid, light brown eyes... shes attractive enough to get eyes walking down the street.
Heroic Type: Fast Hero
Physical Focus Trait: Dexterity
Mental Focus Trait: Charisma
Personal Items: Pocket knife, palm pilot (or something along those lines)
Items to Pack: Gun (if you'll allow it) or possibly twin daggers (legal to carry most anywhere)

A Brief History: Izzy comes from one of the more prominent mob families, before defecting because she refused to kill on command. She still has contact with her wealthy mother, which the rest of the family is unaware of. Is currently going to college (studying law) and working at a library near the campus.

Fissy: shes the swarmy rogue/assassin lass... and should be a blast to play... I havent quite worked out all the bits of her personality and history, but give me time to brew it over if you like the basic idea, and i can build from there...

Awesome peoples. Neko, you won't have access to guns, but maybe one in a safety deposit box hidden away, that kind of thing, and you know it would only be for absolute emerg. Not something you'd have access to on campus.

However, we can tweak anything too powerful...having the mob-ish background will help EVERYONE in the group, so I think I'll allow portions of it..

I will whip up a detailed Character Guide this weekend and post it here/e-mail to you four.

Get ready...for AWESOME.

Aaaand might slight lack of experience in D20 modern. i more of experience in D&D 3.5 but otherwise none in modern.
so is it possible if i jump in?

Should be no problem. The time zone difference is mostly negated so long as we're all up on our initiatives and check the board every day or so. Also, 5 people will be the maximum I'll allow, so consider yourself in. :D

I'll post a quick character generation document here hopefully tonight. So long as you have D20 experience, 3.5 is more than fine. The only difference really between DnD 3.5 and Modern is the way they generate Classes, and most of that I'll be letting you all decide on the progression.

Come up with a character concept. Remember:

-Has to be semi-believable in modern times.
-No exotic weapons unless you can justify them in your character history
-Plan on one Physical Attribute and one Mental Attribute you'd like to focus on.
-Try to base your character off of yourself at least partially, as you'll have a lot more fun playing someone you can instantly relate to.
-Let me know any "Would carry around everywhere" equipment you might be carrying with you on a trip. Everyone is assumed to have wallet/passport/ID, but I'm talking would your character have a pocket knife? A walking stick? A computer Thumbdrive? PDA or Blackberry....etc.

Don't worry about the actual stats until I post the character guide.

Character Creation:
We will be using D20 Modern as the Game System for this campaign.

http://12tomidnight.com/d20modernsrd/Home.php

*Starting Level: 1

*Physical Stats, Str, Dex, Con, start at 9. You may add 7 points as you see fit to boost any stat, or divide it up any way you like.
*Mental Stats, Int, Wis, Cha, start at 11. You may add 7 points as you see fit to boost any stat, or divide it up any way you like.

*Bonus Starting Hitpoints: 10

*Class: Choose one Physical-based Class, and one Mental-based Class.

Physical Classes have higher Hitpoints and better Combat abilities.
-Strong Hero (STR)
-Fast Hero (DEX)
-Tough Hero (CON)

Mental Classes have more skills and cultural based defenses.
-Smart Hero (INT)
-Dedicated Hero (WIS)
-Charismatic Hero (CHA)

You must choose which one will be your "Main" class, however, when choosing Feats and Talents, you may freely choose between either your main class, or your other class.

Example, if you are a Fast Hero with a mental focus of Wisdom, you gain your Base Attack Bonus, Hitpoints, Saves, and Defense Bonus from Fast Hero, but you can choose abilities from the Empathy talent tree, which is normally a Dedicated Hero only ability. You can also choose "Iron Will" which is a bonus feat for the Dedicated Hero. NOTE: If you spread your feats/talents over two classes, you may not qualify for the higher level feats and talents later on, so choose wisely.

*Initiative: Is now a Skill based on Dex or Wis, whichever is higher. It is ALWAYS a Class Skill.

*Creation Skills: Upon Character Creation, you get 6 bonus points to add into Skills as you see fit, or 3 + one bonus Class Skill of your choice, or 2 extra Class Skills of your choice. For example, if you are a Strong Hero, you could use this bonus to get Craft Electronics as a Class Skill, and add 2 points into Repair, and 1 point into Initiative.

*Skill Bonus: You also receive a +1 to Skills when getting skill points for leveling up, and +4 for your first level. This means you can have, upon Character Creation, +10 skillpoints, OR, +7 Skillpoints and an extra Class Skill, OR a +4 Skillpoints, and 2 extra Class Skills.

**Remember that Initiative is now a Skill - The bonus points are to partially assist with keeping this skill active IF you want it.**

*Equipment: Absolutely NO exotic weapons upon character creation. No weapons other than pocket knives, non-lethal weapons, walking sticks and the like.

*Wealth and Equipment: Everyone starts with 3000 dollars and the clothes on their back, effectively starting with +3. Roll 1d4 and add this result to find if you are any wealthier. Each +1 is basically $1000. We won't be worrying too much about money at first, so just get what your character would be likely to carry around with them with the initial Wealth score you start with. Write down costs for each item and add them up, I will tell you if this changes your Wealth score.

*Ballistics: To make ranged combat with guns a bit more realistic, armor and objects can provide Ballistic Damage Reduction. For objects, assume that this BDR is its Hardness rating. Armor: Assume that Light Armor gives you a BDR 1, Medium Armor gives BDR 2, and Heavy Armor gives BDR 3. Also, special abilities, powers, and equipment may offer extraordinary protection against bullets. Once we start playing, and armor becomes available, I will give you the stats of each item.

*Multiclassing – Not allowed for the first 5 levels.

*Class-independent bonuses:
At first level, and every level divisible by 3 you get a bonus Feat of your choice, so long as you qualify for it, it can be for any class, or on the generic feats list.

*At Forth Level and every 4 levels after that, you get to add a +1 bonus to one Mental, and one Physical Stat of your choice. They do not have to be the stats your classes are based on.

*Experience: Will be given out at the end of every major encounter. Surviving a situation, coming up with creative ways of handling a puzzle, and exceptional role-playing and character development will result in bonuses. Major enemy defeats will also lead to bonuses.

*Action Points: In addition to the normal use of Action Points to add to a d20 roll, you may spend an action point to do the following:
-Gain a PERMAMENT +1 to your Hitpoints (useful for unspent points just before leveling up)
-Heal HALF your normal Hitpoints as a Move Action, once per combat/encounter as a "Second Wind"
-Automatically Stabilize your Health if you are Dying
-Heal ALL of your Nonlethal Damage as a Full Round Action, once per combat/encounter
-Give yourself a temporary +2 to your Initiative that lasts 1 round, usable once per combat/encounter
-Retard Agility: If you roll a Critical Failure (1) on a die, you may spend an action point if you have not yet that round to attempt to recover your failure. Roll another D20. If you roll 18, 19, or 20, your failure becomes a success – though it is up to the Game Master to decide what happens exactly, and you may still suffer some bad effects. If you roll a 4-17, nothing amazing happens, and you still critical fail. If you roll a 1-3, however, you DRAMATICALLY critically fail, and the GM gets to decide your horrible fate.

*Levels: 1-5 will be simple and basic to get everyone started. Level 6-10, I will introduce supernatural elements to the game. 11-20 we will begin to develop special abilities suited to your character. If we go beyond level 20, we will decide how Epic rules will work with our campaign if needed.

Let me know if you have any questions! Please send me a copy of your character sheet once you are done. Any format you wish is fine, so long as it has all of the following information on it:

Use the "d20 Modern Role-playing Game" sheet

woot!

I should have something for you this afternoon... after I sleep a nice long sleep... ^-^

~EDIT~
How many skills points do we start off with in total? at one point you say 6... and then 4... *confused* I added them and made it 10... though that is probably not right at all...

Post Re: Massive 3 Party Campaign planned - Want in?
Sorry! I should have clarified.

Whenever you level up, or choose class basics, you get Skill Points, + Int modifier, + my bonus that I gave you of 1 per level / 4 for the first level.

Additionally, you can have up to an additional +6, so 10 is correct. HOWEVER, that +6 can be turned into a +3 and an extra Class Skill, OR 2 extra class skills.

Your bonus therefore will be minimum 4, maximum 10, and will vary depending if you want any other skills as "trained". this allows tough, rowdy characters to still have musical ability, or smart characters can learn how to ride a horse or motorcycle. Etc.

I have edited the main post about character creation to simplify things.
