I can't get files to open inside the PCP window. It asks me if I want to "open, save, cancel" as if I opened a .zip file in a web browser. Thanks for the blank, but apparently it doesn't export into html, which I was hoping it did. I'll just whip up an HTML document then.

Also, I can't find where it says how you calculate HP. That would be important.

All classes get a Hit Die. The type varies with class.

Barbarians get a d12
Fighters, paladins, rangers, and Soul Knives get a d10
Clerics, Druids, Monks, and Psychic Warriors get d8
Bards, rogues, and wilders get d6
Psions, sorcerers, and wizards get d4

At first level, each character gets the maximum value of their Hit Die for hit points. At 2nd level and beyond, they roll their Hit Die and add that to their hit points. For example, a level 1 fighter has 10 base hit points. At level 2, he would roll a d10, getting a 4, and adds that to his total for a base of 14. A wizard at level 1 has 4 hit points. At level 2, he rolls a d4, getting a 1, so he now has 7 total hit points. At level 3, the wizard would roll a d4, again, getting a 2 for a total of 9 hit points.

As well, constitution scores lend to higher and lower hit points. Add your constitution modifier to your hit points for every level your character has. For example, our above fighter has a constitution score of 15 which has a bonus of +2. At level 1, he would add 2 hit points to his total, so he would have 10+2 (or 12) at level 1. At level 2, he would add it, again, for a total of 14+4 (or 18). Alternatively, our above wizard has a constitution score of 7 which has a -2 modifier. At level 1, he has a hit point total of 4 - 2 (or 2). At level 2, he has a total of 7 - 4 (or 3). Finally, at level 3, we see an interesting occurance; because his hit die roll (2) plus his constitution modifer (-2) would give a net gain of 0, he instead gets 1 hit point out of the deal. At any level, you can never gain less than 1 hit point from a hit die. So, because of this rule, our wizard has a final hit point total at level 3 of 4. It's a good thing he's not a tank.

It could get more complicated, but I will leave it at this for ease.

For ease of reference, all ability scores get modifiers in the same way, unlike AD&D. In this game, an ability score has a modifier equal to (score - 10)/2. So, a strength score of 6 has a modifier of (6-10)/2 or -2. A wisdom score of 18 has a modifier of (18-10)/2 or +4. You can use this formula to figure out the modifier on any value of ability score, even for very large values of 2.

I'm taking all of this silence as either dedication to getting CSheets done or a reaction to my non-pestering.

So, to try and get those creative gears working, I'm going to be starting the game as soon as I get the next readable character sheet.

By the way, if you've tried contacting me, and I haven't gotten back to you, try again. Keep trying until I do because I might forget.

Don't worry about it; just get it in as soon as you can, and I will work you in. Just because it's not in next doesn't mean you're barred from playing. ;)

I'm almost done with my HTML character sheet. I just can't figure out how I'm supposed to calculate the Save vs DC for my spells. Help?

The save DC for any spellcaster's spells are generally listed under the "Spells known", "Spellcasting", or similar heading in each class's description.

It's nearly always 10 + spell/power level + key ability modifier.

The spell/power level is fairly straight forward; each spell or power has a specific level which governs when your character is able to learn it.

The key ability modifier is:

Intelligence for wizards and psions,
Wisdom for clerics, druids, paladins, rangers, and psychic warriors,
Charisma for Bards, Sorcerers, and Wilders.

As well, the first emails have been sent out, so the game is a go. As I said, as soon as I get more characters, I will start more players.

Make a char sheet, post it on the web, wait for Daemon to read it. That's all it takes. If you have any problems or qeustions, just post them to the board.

Only post it on the web if you want everyone to know your character. I sent you an email. I figured you would check it.

Go to the first post of this thread. There is a link to the 3.5 edition System Reference Document on the Wizards of the Coast website. It's free. It's legal. It's nice.

Alright, I've got my Race (Half-Elf), Class (Ranger), and stats rolled, ((Str)15 (Dex) 13, (Con) 11, (Int) 12, (Wis) 12, and (Cha) 10). Now I'm on to skill picking, and I have no clue whats going on, also I'm pretty sure I rolled my stats wrong.

4d6 and drop the lowest.

You should start with your class skills. Go look up the ranger class and you'll find a list of skills associated with that class that you can get 1 for 1.

If you know what 32-point standard point-buy is, you are free to use that. However, it is more complicated and not extremely common knowledge.

The 4d6 drop lowest method involves rolling 4 six-sided dice for each ability score and ignoring the lowest roll. So, if you rolled a 6, 4, 3, and 5, you would drop the 3 for a total of 15.

Ok, I did the stat rolling right, but I'm confused about how to go about getting skills.

Each class gets a number of skill points per level. It should be listed in the class description, right under where it lists the classes "class skills", as well as in the skills section/document, it should give a table that lists the skill points for each class.

For example, a fighter gets a number of skill points equal to 2 plus his intelligence modifier. If he had an intelligence of 8 (which has a modifier of -1), he'd get 1 skill point per level. If he had an intelligence of 14 (which has a modifier of +2), he'd get 4 skill points per level.

Finally, at 1st level each classes gets a total number of skill points equal to the above formula multiplied by 4. So, our fighter above would get 4 skill points at first level if he had an Int of 8 or 16 skill points at first level if he had an Int of 14.

There are some exceptions to this formula. For instance, there is a feat in the psionics supplement called Open Mind which gives 5 skill points. As well, humans get 4 extra skill points at level 1 and 1 extra skill point per level after that.

As far as I know, the list should be as follows:
Cleric, Fighter, Paladin, Sorcerer, Wizard, Psion, Psychic Warrior: (2+Int modifier) x4 at first level
Barbarian, Druid, Monk, Soul Knife, Wilder: (4+Int modifier) x4 at first level
Bard, Ranger: (6+Int modifier) x4 at first level
Rogue: (8+Int modifier) x4 at first level

<-- contemplates making a brief HTML tutorial on making characters...

I'm sorry, guys. Halo2 has been taking up a rather large amount of time. I'll make an effort to get back on track tomorrow, now that I've beaten it on normal.
