Gone
Fuckit. I spend to much time on this board bashing my head against walls. Fiss and his selected mods see fit to endorse free speech to the point that certain groups no longer feel comfortable here. I happen to be a member of one of those groups. I've got better things to do than hear over and over how I'm a terrible or stupid person.
To those of you whom I agreed with, thanks for the good times. See you on the flip side.

Bad day angst, or serious?
Meh, either way, sucks. Sorry to see you go.
Shit, if I left ever place I didn't feel comfortable, damn, I don't think I'd *be* much places.
*edit* Just remembered I was going to make some joke about the Reg & Phil forums leading to the dark side, but I forgot, and it really wasn't all that funny, but then I remembered, so here it is anyway. Heh. */edit*

I truly wish I could say that I'm sorry to see him leave, but I'd be lying. His knowledge of theology made for good debates in Rel&Phil...y'know, so long as you didn't challenge his position, or say something that offended his sainted sensibilites...
I'm sorry; that was unkind. True, but unkind. It's a pity that he's leaving, but honestly, after the shit he's dumped over my head...I say let him go. He'll either come back when he's calmed down, or not.

damn. i'll miss you. even though we didn't always get along, who did. it's not a good thing that this is happenning.
i really hope you can come back sometime
when that day comes, it will be the begining of the end. People like us gotta stick together, through the bad times and good. this is a bad time, but surely there is a good time just beyond the next hill. don't give up hope for it.

If I were to mod or ban anyone, it would be the people who can't LET GO of the fact that they are not always right. That have to respond to EVERYTHING with a negitive reaction because of a flame-war months ago...only to start it up again or add new fuel.
The world doesn't agree with you, Tozetre. Get over it. Because it doesn't agree with me or anyone else either, so it's no use calling foul on a fair game. I'm sick of hearing pointless arguments and personal attacks be brought up every damn post, and yes, it IS you. If you want me to start modding people who are acting like assholes, then you should first make sure you're not doing the exact same thing. If you can't rise above them, then stick to Blogging where you can get sympathy from 12 year olds and 14 syllable responses.
If you don't feel comfortable in a place that you can completely IGNORE people, where you are in no threat or proximity of danger, and where you can - at complete random - say what you want to say and lock the topic, barring it from critics... then where will you be comfortable?
I don't buy it.
If you want to share your expertise, however, and share the wisdom that I KNOW is in your head and heart, then come on back anytime. Just drop this baggage at the door next time. It's getting old.

Ah the E-Drama. There seems to be no escaping it nowadays. Having read over your posts often Toze I know that you are a person of intergrity and honesty. I may not always agree with you but you are valuable in that you always speak your mind.
Come back when you've cleared your head a little.

Aha, so it's *your* fault, eh?
I still blame the dark side.

Tozetre, a bit of philosophy. Learn to stand firm on your own and you'll never require the approval of another.

Bah, that's no fun.
I propose... an inquisition!
Let us get to the botton of this certain groups discomfort, and then pinch it!

nobody stands firmer on his own than Toze. the problem is that when you become too firm, you cease to bend. and i hate to sound bigoted about it, but in past experience i've found a lot of religious folks, on the topic OF their religion, can be particularly inflexible, to the point of aggressiveness. (i'm no longer talking just about you bro, i'm broadening my observation...)
i think often-times, when a person roots their self-validation primarily in one concept, it is such a frightening thing to have that concept challenged that they become very defensive. other times it's a little different: if someone focuses themselves in a belief or an idea or even a hobby, and someone else mocks or ridicules that, they feel very hurt.
i myself have experienced this; my stepmother once referred to "that anime crap," right around the time when i'd burned my 250th cd of said crap (on a 2x4x8 burner, that's 125 hours of burning... i have over 400 discs now.) i felt as though she were mocking my existence, not just some funny culture she didn't understand. it stung.
and of course, if you're mocked often enough, you begin to see it even where it isn't, as happened to me back in early high school (my town was not nerd-friendly).
if that kind of stress can't be vented (as i also learned), it eventually leads to a blow-up.
...also, i blame binky.

In other words, they take something personally that wasn't personal?

in some cases, yes. and, in my *opinion,* in this case, yes.

Spike. I'd say that's the perfect example of a person who merely believes they can stand firm on their own.

Actually, that was sarcasm as I've said the same thing on several different occasions.
