A file that big?
It might be very useful.
But now it is gone.

downloading and seeding. thanks
main reason i asked was for this: s11.invisionfree.com/gurpsarena
see, i enjoyed the OFA so much, and lament it's falling by the wayside (mostly our fault for nto jumping in and taking over when Toze needed to take a break) that i'm starting up my own version (which is really just same shit, different smell)
anyways, y'all are welcome to join in. got 4 players so far, including myself. ^_^

Perhaps I'm too much of a lawe-and-order type but I'm really not too comfortable with screwing Steve Jackson out of royalties unless he's already out-of-business (and I haven't heard about that).
And I take Ver's point about the OFA - that was fun, wasn't it?

Also, Jackson's working on 4th ed these days, not 3rd. You can still use 3rd ed rulebooks, but I'm pretty sure he's not selling 3rd ed core books.

Really? How did you port the GURPS-based OFA to the D&D/d20-based Missionaries?
And speaking of Missionaries, when is 5 coming out?

The scale in which Tozetre set up in the OFA is still about 5 to 15 years in the future in M5, but the 'technology' ...re: Angelic script... is being used in the Missionaries training program.
Made too much sense to pass up as a training tool. ^_^ As for D20 rules, it's simple enough. The mechanics of the fight would obviously be changed, but the "you aren't dead" stuff is universal.
In D20 terms, we could say that all damage turns from HP or Vitality to Subdual, so you're just knocked out afterwards.
Also...there is a catch. 7 minute time limit. If you don't leave the ring by then...well...whatever happened to you will stick.
Because the "environmental effects" were mostly mechanical in nature in the OFA (techs would build the arena on the fly) only the barest minimum of magic would be used, and thus, if Crystal Canada was prosperous enough, they could theoretically start construction anytime.
Of course...there are some other pressing issues on their minds right now.
