Changes in latititude, [but not] changes in attitude
As referenced in my LJ entries, I've just been hired by the state crime lab. It's a dayshift jop, I get to tran sfer my pension credits, and I get the chance to learn a lot that I wouldn't otherwise have a chance to learn.
OTOH, it's a civilian, non-sworn, position. I won't be a copper anymore.
Weird factor: in my 43 years on this earth, I've spent more of them in uniform than out. THAT's going to take some getting used to...

Heh, probably gonna feel pretty surreal after all that time in uniform - on the other hand, dayshift, rather than nightshift, is worth a bit of pain, in my opinion.

'Grats on the transfer. Hopefully this means you'll still be around to give us youngins some your sage advice and wisdom. Good luck in your new role.

Gotta say congrats on the transfer. No longer being in the line of fire is always a good thing no matter how much you may miss the Uniform or adrenaline rush at first. As Nate said, us young'uns look forward to more of your pearls of wisdom good sir.

Wisdom? Moi?
But thank you for the well-wishes, anyway.

Congrats. Maybe you'll get your own TV drama on CS now. ^_^
On a side note, you're literally more than twice my age. O_O

Congrats. Transitions like that are always a bit difficult, but once you get into it it should be alright.

"I just wanted to cuddle!"
"Fuckin' fag."
I wanna be played by Vinnie Jones. In vaguely related news, I found his name by searching IMDB for XMen, and then followed Patrick "Captain Picard" Stewart's link. Know what I found?
The Magneto movie's been announced.
They're filming ST:Legacy. (and we can hope the franchise recovers from the disaster that was Dark Elves In Space oops I mean ST:Nemesis)
Stewart and Stephen Fry will be in a sci-fi movie together.
So yeah. 2007 should be a good year.
