Greeting From Paradise!
I'm in Jamaica. It's in the 80's here. I went snorkeling in the reef today. How are all you Canadians fairing? Keeping warm? Still got all your toes?

Did you see that fish with the missing eye?
No? Too bad. That's my spyfish.

After five years in Florida, enduring the torture of 100+ degree weather INSIDE MY AIR CONDITIONED HOUSE for months on end, I feel safe in saying I'd rather be in the north and cold than living in the heat. Even thinking of vacationing down south makes me sweat.

Ahh, the Caribbean... Gitmo is lovely this time of year - I deployed down there in January '85, back when the primary mission was just to be a pain in Fidel's ass. The rear party hated us - two days after we left, they had a cold snap that didn't let up until one day before we got back...
Enjoy.

Ever stomped through -40 Celsius for 15 blocks in thigh-deep snowdrifts?
No?
Quit yer bitchin', then. :P

Matter of fact, I have. And I enjoyed it, too. So there.

I just glare at the snow and it melts to escape my wrath. Why do you think it almost never snows here in Texas?
I do a lot of glaring here... many reasons.

Sorry, Toze, I have to agree with D'Nate that Cold be the better option. At least then you just feel...cold. Not "ZOMG THE ATMOSPHERE IS OUT TO FUCKING COOK ME!!!" I've never felt so goddamn....uncomfortable....than when we were down in Philly during a heat-wave. <shakes head> I was so happy when we got back to Calgary...rain! RAIN! BLESSED RAIN THAT DOES NOT BURN! YAY!
A little warm-clothing and maybe some of those sweet pocket-heaters, and cold is nothing. Especially when you live in Calgary and get Chinooks for half the winter. WIN!
Still...Jamaica = Warm and awesome-fun. Glad to hear you're enjoying it. Just make sure to send us some pictures so we can huddle up to them for heat

I'm not staying in Montigo Bay, so I wouldn't know about that. I'm over in Negril. On a side note, that was the most terrifying car trip ever! Traffic actually sped up in the rain! Tailgating, driving on the wrong side of the road, pedestrians and animals randomly shooting across... Traffic laws are apparently only a suggestion here, and not a stop sign to be seen!
