Future campaign?
Hey, just wondering if anyone might be interested in playing in a homebrew sci-fi campaign. The setting will be a roving space-based story, balancing GM-provided storylines with opportunities for the party to explore the galaxy on their own terms. I'm looking for a party of 3-6 players. Mechanically I'll be using d20 Modern, mostly because I don't know GURPs and I don't think a quick read-through will be enough for me to be able to GM it.
Anyway, if you'd like to participate, reply here. I'm aiming to start the campaign in the next couple of weeks, possibly sooner if I get enough people. Thanks for reading!

Re: Future campaign?
I'm in. It will help force me to check the campaigns I'm DMing if I'm also playing too.

Count me in... though I am about to move... so my ability to keep up with posting might be a bit slow some...

Hey, faster and more responses than I expected. Awesome. Let's see how many interested people we get by Friday night. I'll post creation guidelines in a separate thread, and people can start putting character summaries there.

Re: Future campaign?
I was kidding, actually.
I wanna make ROBOTS! so dibs on Smart/Technosavant.
*edit* Oh my. Uh, okay, I've got a 1st-level Smart done up. He's got rather a bit of money. And mad, mad crafting skills. He will be the craftmonkey of the group, and he will make little robot friends! Filled with poison and fire.
I mean candy!

Re: Future campaign?
Awesome. Now let's see what he can do with the other 9 levels. (Creation guidelines are up in a separate thread. Everyone's starting at 10th level.) Looks like we've got a pilot (Fiss), a skills monkey (Amon) and a techie (Tozetre), plus another unspecified character (NekoChan). Anyone else?

Anyone got copies of the books I can flip through to build a character?

Re: Future campaign?
Have got a rough copy of my character at level 10.
Just to give you a taste, here's his feat list: Medical Expert Surgery Cybernetic Surgery Craft Cybernetics Builder Gearhead Mastercrafter
Plus maxed ranks in crafting of electrical, mechanical, and chemical items. He is a happy, robot-building, cybernetics-implanting fellow!
Is there a feat I can take to make a cross-class skill a class skill? There's one in Unearthed Arcana, but it's not really Modern canon. I ask because I haven't got Treat Injury as a class skill anywhere, and I can swap Medical Expert for it if such a feat exists, at first level.

Re: Future campaign?
You know... that's not a bad idea. I can't find it in Unearthed Arcana, but I've seen the feat you're talking about. I'd say that you can use any one of your level-dependent feat slots (1st, 3rd, 6th, or 9th) to convert a cross-class skill into a class skill. I'll update the creation rules to reflect this. Fiss, that means you can go back and retool if you want.

Re: Future campaign?
Actually, my character is OK with the current skill list she has. No worries.

Re: Future campaign?
Alright, everyone. Campaign setting info and our creation rules are posted in the "Kaminari's Future Campaign" thread, here. Right now, assuming circumstances permit, I'm thinking of starting things up late next weekend (a week Sunday). Since we've had a few people reply with their interest already, it shouldn't be too hard to get an adventure started as long as everyone has their characters ready to go. If you're interested in playing but haven't had time to get your character stuff sorted out, don't worry, I'll find a way to work you in later in the adventure. If we have at least three people ready to go on Sunday then I'll go ahead and start. If not, I'll hold off until I get enough. Sound good to everyone? Please post your character notes in the other thread so I can look them over. If you could, attach your CSs in the Excel spreadsheet that Fiss posted on that thread. If you don't want your stats splatted into the public eye, PM me and I'll give you an e-mail address to send them to. Thanks!
