Linux VS FreeBSD?
Can anyone give me a good comparison between Linux and BSD? I've been playing around with the idea of installing *nix on a system to learn, and lately I've been hearing great things about Free BSD by the online community and a few of my co-workers that are far more l33t than I.
Any suggestions?

to be honest, i have no idea. my experiences with *nix are mainly limited to U.
one of my friends has a FreeBSD server running his home network. he finds it annoyingly good. which is to say, it pisses him off because it requires so much expertise to get it back up when it stumbles, but otherwise i've never heard him complain....
guess its trial and error really. why not make a dual boot system and trial them out in some real world tests?

BSD is very barebones. If you're looking to use your OS regularly (ie not as a server) go for a Linux build.

A file that big?
It might be very useful.
But now it is gone.
